Applicants Sought for Board of Education Redistricting Commission

Applicants are currently being sought for nomination to the Talbot County Council for positions on a Redistricting Commission for the Board of Education Election District Boundaries in Talbot County, Maryland.  The commission is charged with redrawing the seven (7) election districts in Talbot County following the 2010 Census.

We are seeking highly qualified candidates familiar with the Board of Education and/or education and political redistricting issues.  The link to a PDF letter from the Talbot County Council is available here:  Board of Education Redistricting Letter (PDF file)

Applicants should submit a cover letter and/or resume for consideration to info@talbotdems.com.  Due to the impending deadline, all applicants should submit a resume by Wednesday, April 20th, and the Talbot County Democratic Central Committee will contact you with further details as to whether your name has been included with the slate of six nominees that will submitted.  After being submitted, the County Council will choose to appoint four of the six nominees to this commission.  We expect that the commission’s service will begin right away and will last through approximately November 2011.

Apply Now: Opening for Central Committee Member

The Talbot County Democratic Central Committee is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the committee, following the resignation of committee member Allison Dungan, who is attending graduate school.  An appointment will be made to fill the rest of her term through September 2014.

Applicants must be a member of the Democratic Party, reside in Talbot County, and want to become more involved in state and local politics. Those interested in being considered should submit a resume and cover letter to info@talbotdems.com no later than March 31, 2011.

Due to the gender-balance requirements of the committee, a female applicant will ultimately be accepted, though the committee welcomes the interest of any Democrat wishing to be more involved.

The Central Committee is the official governing body of the Democratic Party in Talbot County and along with party-building activities, is responsible for making nominations and appointments to certain local and state offices.
